Dragon Fire Collection - About Custom Orders

Although there are pieces for sale on our site, the majority of our work is custom designed. It is a simple process to have a custom piece made. Delivery times vary depending on design but we make pieces on a first come first serve basis. If you need it for a specific date please inform us when ordering and we will do our best to comply.

Just contact us by email and we will exchange ideas on your desired design. When we have an idea of what you want, we will give you an estimate of delivery time and price. The prices vary widely depending on size, detail, and the time required for design and execution of the piece. With one half down, construction will begin. The balance is due in full before work is shipped. Remember each piece is an individual work of art by either David or Colleen White, and not an import. Generally jewelry, goblets, tiaras, and lamps require 7-10 days for construction, although Renaissance pieces and goblets with complex designs may take longer. If we are backlogged it can take 3-4 weeks for intricate work, but we will email you and keep you informed of any delay. Custom art can take from days to months, depending on the design, although many smaller pieces can be shipped within two weeks. Commissions for fantasy portraits vary greatly depending on size and comlexity of design. The more ornate your character's regalia, the more time it will take. Around the holidays we get very busy, so order early for Christmas delivery.

*Jewelry, goblets, and tiaras are made in sterling silver (.925) fine silver (.999) 22 and 24 kt gold. We do not use pewter or nickel silver. Fine silver resists tarnish much better than sterling, and each piece is shipped in an airtight resealable bag with a piece of anti-tarnish paper. We recommend storing it between use in the bag. To display goblets or tiaras, we have found that bell jar cases work great - just put the piece of anti-tarnish paper under the piece inside the jar, and display away from direct sunlight. Our wedding goblet has been displayed for two years in this manner without needing polishing. To clean sterling use a rouge cloth or Wrights silver polish - do NOT use "dips" as these can damage pieces & stones. Pearls can be cleaned in mild soapy water, however, they will develop a "luster" with wear from natural body oils that enhance their vintage look. Do NOT spray perfumes, lotions, sunscreens, or other chemicals on pearls - this can damage or discolor them. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners on pearls, turquoise, or opals. Don't wear your silver in chlorinated water (swimming pools & hot tubs) or when working with household chemicals as this can turn them black. Clean stones with a damp toothbrush dipped in baking soda.

Buyer will be responsible for shipping costs and insurance. We usually ship Priority Mail via the USPS which combines 2-3 day delivery with automatic delivery confirmation. All pricing is in U.S. Dollars. Payment may be by PayPal (all major credit cards) money order or cashiers check. We will email an invoice to you with a direct link to our Paypal account. If you would like to purchase or commission one of our crafts, please email us at dragonfiremail@aol.com. or call us at (941) 751-8073 (our home studio).

Our Guarantee

Due to the nature of our business, most of our work is custom made. If you are not happy with an item, we will be happy to offer an exchange for an item of equal or greater value (with the difference being paid) or we will exchange it for merchandise credit for a future date. We do not offer refunds on custom work. We will do everything we can to ensure that your order is how it was described and agreed upon and delivered on time. We stand behind all our work and are willing to satisfy you, but all exchanges must be made within 7 days of delivery, and returned in the same shipping package & packing material it was delivered in. If the piece was worn, we must have it in hand to examine for wear & tear before merchandise credit is issued.

*We will repair any of our work as long as the damage was not the fault of a harmful action - (i.e. running over with a car - we once had a flattened ring returned with "It broke" being the claimed cause!) If it breaks in a weakened area, or a solder joint wasn't well formed (and we missed it) or for general and light repairs, we will fix it at no charge to you other than the shipping costs. This is still much less than taking the piece to your local jeweler for repairs. We also recommend this as we are familiar with the piece and know how to fix it, where someone else may only do further damage.
